Dear colleague Adolfo Muñoz, thank you for your comment on our previous note. The date JANUARY 11 in the event at Arandjelovac , Novogodisnja noc Ibarska Magistrala is not wrong. Certainly Novogodisnja noc means New Year’s Eve and Ibarska Magistrala is the main road that leads to the Adriatic Sea, but it is in this long road´s surrounding areas that many similar events are held at any of the numerous hotels, restaurants, inns, ethnic villages and tourist sites, that also offer rich seasonal gastronomic delicacies and a variety of shows and attractions, all set in the spirit of the festivities of December and New Year. Since in Serbia these celebrations are duplicated, because they follow two different calendars, and their Orthodox calendar celebrates on different dates than most Western countries.
Of course, in Arandjelovac there are also big 5-stars hotels, as the IZVOR, famous for its spas, saunas, Turkish baths, massage rooms and swimming pools, whose room rates, in this winter month start at $ 126. There you can also enjoy good music with DJs, hot springs and champagne and swimming in over-sized pools all night.
At the IZVOR are held numerous International Medical Congresses, for example, last 2018, the Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine, 6th International Congress of Balneoclimatology and 1st Congress of Hyperbaric Medicine of Serbia.
As in Serbia the December Holidays are duplicated, so will be your enjoyment to make your stay an unique and unforgettable experience.
The hotel rates below are referential until the end of January at hotels in downtown Belgrade, the capital city:
Hyatt Regency ($ 118); Marriot ($ 113); Hilton ($ 91); Holiday Inn Express ($ 53); Hollywood Wellness Spa ($ 47); Belgrade City Hotel ($ 39); Privilege Suites Central Park ($ 33); Hotel Rex ($ 28); Woods Suites ($ 22).
You can also find good Serbian hotels, such as the Sumadija ($ 63) or the cozy Garni Hotel Village Family ($ 22) in the municipality of Čukarica, located southwest of downtown Belgrade and bordered by the Sava River, where vast forests are found and Ada Ciganlija, or simply ADA, former fluvial island artificially converted into a peninsula, next to the artificial lake Sava and its beaches. This is a very popular recreational area, notable for its beaches and sports facilities, known as “Mas Beograda” (“Sea of Belgrade”), name officially accepted as an advertising slogan in 2008, stylized as “Mas BeogrADA“.
